Apple AirPods 4 — White
The Apple AirPods 4 are the most capable, most comfortable and most intelligently designed standard AirPods Apple has ever made. Launched in September 2024 alongside the iPhone 16 series, the AirPods 4 represent a complete redesign of Apple's core wireless earbud — powered by the same H2 chip found in the AirPods Pro 2, with an entirely new fit system built from over 50 million ear data points, a smaller USB-C case and a feature set that was previously reserved for the Pro models. If you want AirPods that work beautifully with your iPhone every single day without the step up to the ANC model or AirPods Pro, the standard AirPods 4 are the answer.
Built Around Your Ear — Not the Other Way Around
Apple scanned and mapped thousands of ear shapes and used over 50 million data points with 3D photogrammetry and laser topography to create a single shape that naturally fits most users. Apple says the refined contour offers a natural and secure fit for more people than ever. This matters because AirPods 4 are an open-ear design — there is no silicone tip going into the ear canal. The fit relies entirely on the geometry of the earbud body resting naturally in the ear. Getting this shape right across the widest possible range of ear shapes is what the 50 million data points went toward. The result is an earbud that stays securely in place during workouts, commutes and daily movement without causing the ear canal pressure fatigue that in-ear designs can produce over hours of wear.
The H2 Chip — Pro Performance in Standard AirPods
Apple used the same H2 chip that is in the AirPods Pro 2 for the AirPods 4. It enables features like Voice Isolation for clearer call quality and Siri Interactions so you can shake your head no or nod your head yes to respond to Siri announcements. The H2 chip is what makes the AirPods 4 significantly more capable than any previous standard AirPods. Features that required the Pro model in previous generations — Adaptive EQ, Voice Isolation, Siri Interactions and Personalized Spatial Audio — are now available in the standard AirPods 4. The H2 chip also handles automatic device switching, pairing speed improvements and audio processing quality improvements across all listening scenarios.
Key Features
Personalized Spatial Audio With Dynamic Head Tracking
Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking places sound all around you, creating a theater-like listening experience for music, TV shows, movies, games and more. Using your iPhone's TrueDepth camera, the system photographs your ear shape and builds a custom audio profile matched to your anatomy. This personalised profile places sound in three-dimensional space around you — music, films and content come from specific directions rather than a fixed point between your ears. When you turn your head, the audio field stays fixed in space, as if sound is coming from the screen rather than from the earbuds themselves. On YouTube, Netflix, Apple TV and Apple Music this creates a genuinely more immersive experience than standard stereo.
Adaptive EQ — Music That Adjusts to Your Ear
Adaptive EQ continuously tunes the audio output in real time based on how the AirPods fit in your ears. Every ear interacts with sound slightly differently due to the unique geometry of each individual's ear canal opening. Adaptive EQ measures how music sounds at your ear and adjusts the frequency balance automatically so that bass, midrange and treble all arrive in correct proportion regardless of slight variations in how the earbuds sit. You always hear music as it was intended to sound without manually adjusting any EQ settings.
Voice Isolation for Clearer Calls
Voice Isolation for clearer call quality uses the H2 chip and upgraded microphones to separate your voice from background noise during calls. Rather than simply reducing background noise after capturing everything, Voice Isolation identifies your voice first and only transmits that. On calls from a busy Pakistani street, inside a car with traffic noise or in a crowded office, the person you are calling hears your voice clearly without hearing the environment around you. This is a meaningful upgrade from standard microphone noise reduction and makes the AirPods 4 significantly more capable for calls than any previous standard AirPods generation.
Siri Interactions — Nod Yes, Shake No
With Siri Interactions, you can shake your head no or nod your head yes to respond to Siri announcements. When Siri asks if you want to hear a message, answer a call or manage a notification, you respond physically rather than speaking. The motion sensors in the AirPods detect a definitive nod or shake and interpret it as your answer. This is particularly useful in social situations, meetings or public places where speaking out loud to your earbuds would be awkward. Just nod to accept a call and shake your head to decline it, entirely hands-free.
Automatic Device Switching Across Your Apple Ecosystem
AirPods 4 pair immediately with every device connected to your Apple Account. AirPods 4 give you a seamless listening experience across iPhone, Apple Watch, Apple Vision Pro, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. Your AirPods follow your active device automatically. Start listening to music on your iPhone, begin a video on your iPad and the AirPods switch without any manual input. For Pakistani Apple users moving between a phone, laptop and tablet throughout the day, this seamless switching is one of the most practically useful features in the entire AirPods experience and is not available at this level in any third-party earbuds.
In-Ear Detection — Pauses When You Take Them Out
An optical in-ear sensor knows to play audio only when you are wearing AirPods and pauses when you take them off. Remove one AirPod from your ear during a conversation and your music, podcast or video pauses automatically. Put it back in and it resumes instantly. You never lose your place in whatever you were listening to and you never have to reach for your phone to pause. This applies to both earbuds individually — pulling one out pauses, pulling both out pauses and putting either back in resumes.
Faster Pairing and Force Sensor Controls
The stem is equipped with a force sensor that can be used to play or pause media and mute or end calls with a press, plus previous controls for skipping songs and activating Siri are available. The force sensor on the stem responds to a precise pinch — it does not accidentally trigger from brushing the stem when adjusting the earbuds. One press for play and pause, double press for skip forward, triple press for skip back and press-and-hold for Siri. All the controls you need without ever touching your phone.
Low-Latency Audio for Gaming
The AirPods 4 are also ideal for gaming, providing low wireless audio latency and good voice quality when chatting with other players. Low latency means the audio you hear matches what is happening on screen without a noticeable delay — important for mobile games where audio cues directly affect gameplay. Combined with Voice Isolation on in-game voice chat, the AirPods 4 work well as a gaming headset on iPhone for the growing mobile gaming community in Pakistan.
Battery Life and USB-C Charging
The AirPods 4 and AirPods 4 ANC case add up to a total of 30 hours of battery life without ANC. The AirPods themselves offer up to five hours of battery life on a single charge. Five minutes in the charging case provides around one hour of listening time. The fast charge capability means a 5-minute charge while you get ready in the morning gives you a full hour for your commute. The standard AirPods 4 case charges via USB-C only. Unlike the ANC version which adds wireless charging, the standard case uses a cable connection. For most users who charge overnight at their bedside, this is a non-issue.
IP54 Water and Sweat Resistance
AirPods 4 and the Charging Case are rated IP54 dust, sweat and water resistant. Both the earbuds and the case are IP54 rated, covering workouts, rain and everyday splashes. This rating on both the earbuds and case is genuinely useful for Pakistani users who exercise, commute in rain during monsoon season or simply use their AirPods throughout an active day. Sweat from exercise will not damage them and being caught in light rain will not either.
Smaller USB-C Case
The streamlined charging case is more than 10 percent smaller by volume than the previous generation, with no sacrifice to charging times. The standard AirPods 4 case charges via USB-C. It is noticeably more compact and pocketable than the AirPods 3 case — easier to carry in a pocket, easier to slip into a bag and less bulky overall. The USB-C port means you can share a charging cable with your iPhone 15 or later, MacBook, iPad or most other modern devices — one cable less to carry.
Standard AirPods 4 vs AirPods 4 with ANC — Which Should You Buy
The standard AirPods 4 is the right choice if you primarily want great sounding wireless earbuds with the full Apple ecosystem experience, excellent call quality and Spatial Audio at a more accessible price point. The case only supports USB-C charging and the earbuds do not have Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency mode or Adaptive Audio.
The AirPods 4 with ANC is the right choice if you commute daily through noisy environments, frequently need to focus in busy spaces, or want the option to switch between noise cancellation and Transparency mode. The ANC case also adds wireless charging and a built-in speaker for locating the case with Find My.
Both models sound very similar across most of the frequency range. The non-ANC version rolls off the bass frequencies below 140Hz, meaning it will not sound as heavy or deliver the same low-frequency rumble as the ANC version. For most music genres this difference is subtle. For bass-heavy music like electronic, hip-hop and the kind of desi beats popular in Pakistan, the ANC version's fuller bass is noticeable in a direct comparison.
